Surely New Zealand deserves it's own listing- can't see you combining USA and Canada into the same section!?

You've already noted that NZ produces more Riesling than Canada, and that Wellington qualifies as one of the 10 cities in the world to enjoy a bottle, yet it gets one sentence down the bottom!!! And also the best Riesling producing areas of NZ are as follows: Waipara Valley, Nelson, Martinborough, Central Otago and Marlborough.

I would also argue against the statement that NZ wines are "lighter and more delicate" than Australian Wines. Like great Riesling everywhere it's just not that simple! If you're looking for producers to get a handle on NZ Rieslings try Pegasus Bay, Muddy Water, Neudorf, Forrest, Dry River, Framingham and Felton Road. Cheers

Bryan Ulrich was the winemaker for several Northwestern Michigan wineries and produced a number of highly notable awards. A few years ago he opened his own winery (Left Foot Charley) in the laundry building of the historic asylum in Traverse City, specializing in Riesling, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Grigio. His single vineyard Rieslings have received accolades suggesting they may be superior to any in the U.S. outside of Washington.
I am from Oklahoma and discovered Left Foot Charley last summer. Check it out.

Ian,

Thank you for your comment. We'll review a bit the Australian section to take that into account. Good comments.

The finest Australian Rieslings come from Western Victoria (eg Crawford River), and Western Australia (eg Howard Park), and Tasmania (eg Bream Creek) which were both omitted from noted Australian regions. These wines have more finesse and flavour than warmer areas succh as Clare Valley, and match the best of New Zealand and Alsace/Rhine regions.
